Some people cannot understand agile technique such as TDD and refactoring because these practices need “Object-Oriented” manner. This method can change non-OO brain into Object Oriented brain for only 4 hours by very easy way! Learner can understand Why OO? OO Application Behavior, OO Applications Architecture.

Process/Mechanics

To start, I show the presentation. This presentation includes “why Object-Game is needed for Agile?”, “why oo is difficult for some people?”, “how to make Object-Oriented Brain”, “Rules of Object-Game”. (20 minutes)

This is followed by a 45 minutes Object-Game:

  • I play the demo of object-game with some attendees.
  • The attendees are broken into teams of four people , I give the Object-Cards & Post-Its to teams.
  • I show the exercise to make object-oriented brain, and sample executable oo software sample (which sample is the ultimate sample to make object-oriented brain)
  • The attendees play the game in each team, If the all member understand the architecture and behavior of the application, stage clear!!!
  • I explain the point of the exercise.

Finally I explain the point to make object-oriented brain, effect of object-oriented game and have a Q&A. (25 minutes)

  • understand how to make object-brain to non-oo people for very short times.
  • understand how to play object-game and how to make the Object-Cards.
  • understand effectiveness and tips of Object-Game
  • This method was applied many many times(45 Times/753 persons). anytime, it has been very effective for the learners. And This contents are Innovative Kaizen version of “How to make an object-oriented brain”(Best Seller Japanese Book by Tsuyoshi Ushio) .
